13 going on 30
Watched 13 going on 30 with Siu Fen and Shauna on 31st Aug after a trip down to DHS to visit Ms Koh. Went with Siu Fen and Shauna to heeren and ate at Sakae Sushi before the movie. The movie was alright, but not fantastic. Maybe it would have been if i was 13.
In a nutshell, the movie is abt this 13 year old who always dreamt to be popular, trying to fit in, the usual. Than during her bdae after a trick played on her by the popular group, she wished fervently to be "thirty, flirty and thriving". the lame motto throughout the show. Hmm... why thirty? I tot thirty considered old le? hah. nvm. den she became thirty the next moment, of cuz, as expected. She was this chief editor or some big shot on her dream magazine. She had the most popular girl in high sch as her best friend. She had a movie star or soccer star or wadeva as her boyfriend. Things seemed to be all perfect for her till she realised the package deal. Her best friend actually is backstabbing her and betraying her and everything. She lost touch with her childhood best friend who seems like her only true friend. She is actually this really mean and awful person etc. So when this childhood best friend of hers got married. She wished the same way that she could be 13 again. And she kinda re-wrote her own future. It was way unrealistic, but kinda romantic and the kinda stuff a 13 year old would love la. Shauna kinda fell asleep half way through it. And she rose her eyebrows when this girl in front of us exclaimed "I cried so many times! It's such a good movie!". hahaha.... But in a sense it made me think a little la. Like that girl realised she had gotten everything she wanted, a prom date with the popular senior, she became the leader of the popular girls, she was prom queen and all that la. But it ended up she was actually "poorer" than she was, before all her "dreams" came true. Its kinda like it doesn mean its perfect if all ur dreams come true. And be careful of what you wish for, it may just come true. haha. That day met alot of pple. That's the thing with going to town. I saw Geraldine with her ex-cedar friends, kept banging into Alexis who was wif her ex-NYGH frenz. saw Entia, Lu Di and this other girl i forgot her name from NYJC. Saw Zhi Yuan at cineleisure. Met Suzanne on the mrt trip home. Haha... the last time i went downtown i met with the same situation, met Geraldine and her boyfriend i now realise is my fren's fren. Met ying Ning, Wendy, Mei Jin.... haha... u get the idea. Joyce at 10:00 PM
